Received a Node Locked license for Solid Edge and Solid Edge CAMPro. This license uses the COMPOSITE2 of the computer. How you proceed with the installation.

Solution

A typical Solid Edge CAMPro license is floating. However, there are licenses where Solid Edge and Solid Edge CAMPro are Node Locked using the COMPOSITE2 of the machine for encryption. (i.e. Solid Edge Classic and Solid Edge Included CAM).

The following is an example to get this license installed:

1. Let's say the Node Locked license file containing both products is located in C: \SECAMPro\SELicense.lic.

2. Install Solid Edge 2025 and the latest update. Launch the Solid Edge License utility. Select the 'I have a license file' option and browse for the license. This completes the Solid Edge portion of the installation.

3. Unbundle Solid_Edge_SECAMPro_2025_2412_2410.zip, available from Siemens Support Center and execute Solid_Edge_SECAMPro_2025_2412.exe. The installation is expecting a floating license, but you can browse for 'C:\SECAMPro\SELicense.lic'.

4. At the end of the installation, the value of the Environment Variable SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER will be 29000@LocalHost. Please change that value to point to the location of the Node Locked license File.

Solid Edge and Solid Edge CAMPro can now start using the same license file.
