Home Use Licensing Limitations‍

Unfortunately, for Siemens Mechanical Design bundles (which include NX), home use licensing is not typically available. Specifically, the Siemens Mechanical Design2 (SMD2) and Siemens Mechanical Design3 (SMD3) bundles are not eligible for Home Use licensing.‍

Alternative Options for Remote/Home Use‍

However, there are several alternative approaches for using NX outside of the office:‍

1. License Borrowing‍

• Token licensing is supported from NX 12.0.2 MP14 and NX 1872 series and above.
• This allows you to temporarily "borrow" a license for use away from the office.

2. Remote Access Options

• There are multiple scenarios for remote work:
• Using a VPN to connect to the corporate license server.
• Using a standalone node-locked license.
• Configuring a local license server.‍

Important Considerations

• ‍‍Performance may vary with home internet connections.
• Some remote access methods require specific network configurations.
• Terminal Services sessions may have additional licensing restrictions.‍
