Solid Edge Quick Tip - How to sharpen the image of the model display
To sharpen the image of the model display, you can try the following steps:
1. Adjust the Sharpness Setting: In Solid Edge, go to View>Style>Sharpen and increase the Sharpness Set value. This will help to improve the display quality of the model. To use the Sharpen command:
• Choose View tab→Style group→Sharpen→Sharpness Set

Note: When you sharpen a view, it will process more slowly.
Tip:
- You can improve the display quality incrementally by clicking the Sharpen button more than once.
- You can also sharpen the view by selecting a larger number from the list.

- Use the Auto-Sharpen Command: Enable the Auto-sharpen command in the View section of the Solid Edge options. This will help to automatically sharpen the model display.

Auto sharpen
Provides explicit control of the arc- /chord deviation defining an arc or circle. A large deviation results in an unappealing display of arcs or circular shapes. This option is a global (non-document specific) setting.
- Off: the deviation is large (low level of detail). This is the default setting for new Solid Edge files.

Note: This provides the fastest processing.
- Low: the deviation is smaller with an increased level of detail-best when loading large assemblies.
- Standard: the deviation is smaller than Low.

- High: the deviation is smallest (high level of detail).
Note: This provides the best quality, but increases processing time.
- Increase the Resolution: When saving the model as an image, increase the Resolution setting to a higher value, such as 1200 DPI. This will help to improve the image quality. (Refer to KB#PL8042625)
- Use a Higher Quality Rendering: In Keyshot, use a higher quality rendering setting to improve the image quality. (Refer to KB#PL8126052)
- Adjust the Tessellation Tolerance: In ERA application, adjust the tessellation tolerance of the model to improve the rendering quality. (Refer to KB#PL8025649)
- Convert to Independent Detail View: In Solid Edge, convert the detail view to an independent detail view to improve the rendering quality. (Refer to KB#PL8071871)
- Hide and Show the Section View: In Solid Edge, hide and show the section view to get a crisper and cleaner display. (Refer to KB#PL8805777)
