  • Productivity and performance gains
  • Cost reduction
  • Reduced downtime
  • Eliminate product failures
  • Less-frequent help desk calls
  • Improved customer service
  • Compliance
  • Increased employee morale and retention

Indeed, for every dollar spent on training, there is an estimated $30 gain in productivity, according to studies conducted by Motorola.

Mechanical design and MS Windows experience. Completion of the Solid Edge tutorials delivered with the product.

Solid Edge Synchronous Upgrade

2 days

This course is designed to introduce current Solid Edge users to the new functionality in Solid Edge ST. Topics covered in this course include using the new interactive ST environment, using Live Rules to manage relationships on the go, and editing imported geometry.

Mechanical design experience. Completion of the Solid Edge Fundamentals course.

Solid Edge Assembly

3 days

This course is designed to teach the novice- to intermediate-user how to create assemblies from Solid Models. The class covers all of the commands available in the Assembly environment, and it teaches both top-down and bottom-up assembly design.

At course completion, students will have learned how to apply all of the relationships used to construct assembly models. They will have learned how to assemble and edit parts that already exist, and how to create new parts within an assembly; how to create exploded views, cutaway views, simplified views, and custom views; how to manage very large assemblies; how to verify assembly integrity; how to design in the context of assemblies; and how to work with Alternate Assemblies.

Mechanical design, MS Windows experience. Completion of the Solid Edge Fundamentals course.

Solid Edge Sheet Metal

2 days

PDF Link

The focus of this course is on making the novice user aware of the potential uses of production level sheet metal design. The focus of this course is on the fundamental skills and concepts central to the use of Solid Edge Sheet Metal.

At Course Completion students will have learned how to utilize Solid Edge to design production level parametric sheet metal parts. They will also be familiar with the Solid Edge user interface, reference planes, profile/sketching tools and flat pattern drawing creation.

Sheet metal design and MS Windows experience. Completion of the Solid Edge tutorials delivered with the product or Solid Edge Fundamentals course.

Solid Edge Tubing and Piping

1 day

Solid Edge users who work with Xpress Route module of Solid Edge

Solid Edge Frame and Weldments

1 day

Solid Edge provides a Structural Frames command that displays a toolbar containing commands that allows you create path segments and structural frames along the segments. This workshop will teach you the steps to create, modify and edit structural frames.

The Assembly environment in Solid Edge provides a set of commands that you can use to add weldment specific data to an assembly. For example, you can use material removal commands to prepare part faces for welding operations, add fillet and groove welds between parts, or label edges that require welding on the physical parts. You can also construct assembly features that represent post-weld machining operations. This workshop will teach you how to use this set of commands.

Completed the Solid Edge Fundamentals course and a good understanding of the Assembly environment.

Solid Edge Surfacing

2 days

This course is designed to teach building free form surfaces using Solid Edge modeling functions. Free form surfaces are those that cannot be constructed using standard solid modeling features. This includes creating B-spline curves and other developed curves, building surfaces through one or more sets of curves, sweeping profiles along guides, and applying surface transition between faces. Learn the workflows and modeling tools that make you more productive in creating surface models. The instructor will introduce areas of focus for each modeling workflow and then reinforce this topic with well-designed lab exercises.

At course completion, students will have improved their overall Solid Edge surface modeling skills. They will have learned the finer points of curve creation, learned to create simple and complex surfaces, learned to edit curves to produce a desired surface and learned to combine and manipulate surfaces to build a surface model. Overall, the student will be able show an increase in productivity by more efficient use of Solid Edge thus reducing the design cycle time.

Parametric modeling experience. Completion of the Solid Edge Fundamentals course.

Solid Edge Wire Harness

1 day

Solid Edge users who use Wire Harness Design module of Solid Edge

Solid Edge Explore-Render-Animate

1 day

The Virtual Studio and Explode applications available in the Assembly environment in previous releases were combined into a new Explode-Render-Animate application available on the Applications menu. Significant enhancements were made in version 19 to the exploded view, rendering and animation capabilities in Solid Edge. When used in conjunction with the new Gear relationship and Motor definition capabilities, you can now create assembly animations that depict complex motion simulations and assembly sequencing operations. In this workshop you will explore all the new functionality and will learn how to use the new animation capabilities.
Note: Rendering will not be covered in detail in this workshop. For detailed rendering you must attend our rendering workshop.

Completion of the Solid Edge Fundamentals course and a good understanding of the Assembly environment.

Solid Edge Rendering

Half day

By providing you with the ability to simulate a wide range of sophisticated materials, colors, textures, scenes and real lighting situations, Solid Edge Rendering lets you create high quality photo-realistic renderings of parts or assemblies at light speed. Latest technologies for generating artistic-based renderings for a pencil drawn look are also part of Solid Edge Rendering. In this workshop you will learn the basics of creating your own renderings. You will also spend some time on more advanced editing and control methods, which will allow you to create some advanced renderings.

Customized Training Programs

The tailored training program is developed, documented, and delivered by Designfusion professionals for the most effective use of your time and money.

Some of the situations when customized training is effectively closing the gap:

  • Your software platform has been upgraded to the newer version. With enchantments and new functionality, you want to take advantage of it and cannot afford productivity decline
  • Specific skills upgrade are required for team members
  • Standard training course doesn’t  quite match with the specific needs of your team
  • Provide “deep dive” sessions which allow for further development of the specific skills

All customized courses are designed to meet individual needs and focus on your priorities so they immediately increase your team’s productivity and help you maximize your return on investment.

Custom training program could be delivered in Designfusion training facilities or onsite.

Onsite Training

For groups of 5 or more, onsite training could be more cost effective than Designfusion training facility delivery. Any training program can be scheduled and delivered onsite, or at convenient for customer location.

Technical Mentoring

Mentoring is provided as one-on-one training. This form is ideal when user needs to improve his skills as applied to his own real-world tasks. This format also provides an opportunity to optimize your day-to-day processes and cope with the specific challenges that any user might have by identifying and introducing best practices.

Mentoring also proves to be very effective after a product deployment and structured product training, as a supplemental or corrective time to optimize your environment and further tune up your processes.  Mentoring helps reduce downtime, develop best practices, and improves productivity. We help to get your job done and to get there faster!

Mentoring should be considered as a supplemental component of product training. We provide onsite or offsite mentoring services. Designfusion training team always carefully assesses your situation and understands your goals before suggesting mentoring or referring to one of the standard courses. Feel free to call 1-888-567-3933 or e-mail us at info@designfusion.com and discuss your challenges.
